So our little Sunshine Boy turned 4...
Bough William Rihn Zeerip is a sweet sensitive little boy who loves to snuggle, still needs an afternoon nap, and started school this year. He is probably most notable for his rhythym, rocking, and song improvision. He goes through his days rocking back and forth, putting melody to whatever thought is in his head. One time he sang very cheerfully, "Mama doesn't love me cause she won't give me bread" over and over. He also sings when he has to go to the bathroom. You can tell how badly he has to go by how fevered a pitch his singing reaches. It makes Bo laugh and me shake my head, but back to William... he has an AMAZING memory. He has mastered the Pledge of Allegiance, Prov. 10:1, Prov. 15:16, and Psalm 34:19 in less than a month. William has a very tender heart and regularly will approach me with the misdeed of another saying, "Please don't spank them, but..." and then confess to something broken, lost or misused. When he has his own sin to confess he starts by saying, "Promise you won't be mad?"
We are working with him to learn the Matt. 18 principle that when he is offended, he needn't be a tattletale, but he should go to the other person first to try and work it out. I can tell already this is going to be a training marathon, not a sprint. William has pure golden hair that matches his sunny disposition and blue eyes that are getting a little steely grey. We just compared photos last week and he looks very much like his Ba-pa did at that age. William brings much joy and camaraderie to our family and we thank God for him... Here are the pictures from his birthday.
William wanted to make his own cake... obviously it was just for the batter as he tried to fit his head into the bowl to lick it out. :-)
For their birthdays the kiddos get to choose what they want to eat. As William's birthday approached it became a hot topic: Katherine would choose steak, Jacob wanted crab and William decided on shrimp. Aaahh! $$$$$!
After the shrimp dinner the children decorated their cupcakes with a little help from their Daddy.
YUM! William officially turned 4 when he ate his cake.
FOUR!!!!
And then we opened gifts and here William is trying to carry off all of his new treasures.
Thanks for visiting a little part of our life. Happy Birthday Sweet William!
