I love the fact that my tulips bloomed for me all through this Resurrection Season.
It started with Maundy Thursday with our small group, then a Good Friday Seder dinner with my brother, Justin, and his family, and our good friends the Browns. Then we missed Resurrection Sunday with our church family and then we got half of the family to church the following week and had the rest of our celebration that included Resurrection Baskets and an egg hunt.
Finally this week, we all got to church for a day of family worship!
Here is Katherine, Cousin Addy and Friend Blythe setting the table for the Seder Supper.
My good friend Jeannette working on the Seder Plates... with 21 people in the 3 families, we decided to set out a plate for each family with the symbolic elements.
The Seder Meal.
William's drops of wine on the plate: Ten drops representing the ten plagues of Egypt. His counting needs a little work. :-)
Katherine tasting the bitterness of the maror (the horsradish) which represents both the bitterness of slavery and sin. God delivered the Israelites from the bondage of slavery and delivers us from the bondage of sin.
The children's joyful, full-life Resurrection outfits worn a week late. :-)
Waiting for baskets. God has lavished us with so many gifts!
The egg hunt!
We marked the Resurrection eggs with crosses to distinguish them.
We closed with Bo telling the children the story of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, His arrest and trial, and His crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection using the eggs.
