Princess Boo

I wonder if Jane will grow up to despise this name? Time will tell. But our little Janie-boo-boo, Princess Boo, Stacy Jane has turned four and this post is about who she is currently, not so much musing on who she might become, and so "on with the show!"

Stacy Jane Hampton Zeerip turned 4 on March 4th, her golden birthday. She really does not seem like she is four. She is small for her age, and loves to snuggle and flit through her days like she doesn't have a care in the world - all these things making her seem younger than she really is. As to her personality, she is VERY motivated . . . to let other people do her work for her, like getting dressed, cleaning up, EATING. Yes, Jane is a bit of a diva. She will not comprehend why she should do anything for herself when God obviously gave her a family to do all those things for her. (In case anyone is wondering, yes, Bo and I are aware that this perspective has to change. As a matter of fact, she has been informed that now that she is 4, there are new expectations for her and one of them is for her to "pull her weight" around the house. It has already begun to be a painful transition for her. :-))

As might be expected with this personality, she is quite fascinated with herself as well. The other day she took a long ride with her G-pa (about 3 hours) and the only enterainment she needed was the vanity mirror (aptly named) on the visor. She squinted her eyes this way, and pursed her lips like that, and tilted her head about. . . and did this again and again. When she would come up with a really good expression, she would freeze it and lean over and hit G-pa to get his attention to show him.

Not wanting to leave you with an incomplete mental portrait, let me continue. Jane has the most imagination of anyone in the family. Sometimes it tend a little to the macabre, like when she was playing with Jacob's cars and half of them were upside down. She matter-of-factly pronounced those cars all dead. She is alot like Anne of Green Gables. She can get lost in a little world of her own so quickly and it does not take much to spark this imagination. Two pencils, or a ball and a scrap of paper, two mittens, silverware - I have seen her create entire worlds out of these things at various times.

Jane is also very aware and attentive to others' emotions, habits and general mood. She can "read" people amazingly well for one so young. She makes attempts to cheer up those who are sad, to comfort and console those who are tired or discouraged, and often rejoices whole-heartedly with others as well. She likes interacting with people.

As to her birthday party, we went to Chick-fil-a to celebrate her birthday and Cousin Addy's birthday (Mar 3). The Boehler side of the family was all together that weekend and it worked out nicely to celebrate together. Jane got to pick out the icing for her cake and chose chocolate (good girl). There were balloons, party hats, cake, and presents, all making for a perfect time for a little four year old girl.

Here are some pics of Jane, but the party pics are not posted because they are on my Mom's camera. Maybe later (maybe not).

Jane put Adam to sleep... and herself. :-)

Out sledding this January

Snuggled in with her G-pa, Jane fell to sleep.
